Twenty Five years ago I rescued a dog from a miserable life in Greece, since then I have worked for the rescue charity Friends of the Strays of Greece, helping to re-house a number of mistreated animals. It was because of this and the behaviour of my own dogs that I wanted to find an alternative to the traditional training methods.
The journey I have been on since reading Jan Fennell’s book ‘The Dog Listener’ and then subsequently training with her, has been nothing I would have ever expected. Not only do I have the privilege of helping dog owners and their dogs, I have also traveled to the US to volunteer for over a year at Mission:Wolf in Colorado, a sanctuary for captive bred wolves. Working with, and helping these wonderful creatures cements what a Dog Listener is, and all that we are able to teach others.
